Due to the reconstruction of the Industrial Palace, which is taking place in the immediate vicinity of Rychta, the building is closed to the public. All activities for children and adults have been relocated to Střídačka in the Small Sports Hall.

History

The late Art Nouveau pavilion of the U Primasů courtyard brewery with wooden elements with a subtle geometric decoration has been preserved as one of the last two remnants of the large Jubilee Exhibition of the Chamber of Commerce and Trade in the year 1908. The building, built according to a design by Richard Klenka, a Knight of Vlastimil, is located on a slope north of the western wing of the Industrial Palace. As one of the few private pavilions, it was preserved in Výstaviště, just like the brewery pavilion in Plzeň, known under the name Petzold Restaurant or Bohemia.

The Pavilion was built close to a site traditionally used as a pub. During the exhibition in 1891, a wine and cocoa tasting establishment was located in this site, as well as a confectionery. The name “Rychta” comes from the era of the Julius Fučík Park of Culture and Leisure, the Staročeská Rychta Restaurant was here during the General Czechoslovak Exhibition in 1991.

A new space for children and adults

The former restaurant U Primasů from 1908 was transformed into a space for children and adults to spend their leisure time and received the name Ateliér Rychta.
You can find Rychta behind the Industrial Palace next to the Bistro Artyčok in close proximity to Stromovka Park. Children can use the playground with a sandbox here, while their parents will welcome the benches and Bistro Artyčok. Another large playground, sandbox and rope centre are only a few dozen meters away in the lower part of the Výstaviště grounds.

The building is divided into two floors: in the lower part there is a gallery for organising exhibitions, on the upper floor a studio adapted for holding activities, day camps, workshops and lectures was created not only for children, but also for adults. Corporate events and family days are held here. In the morning, preschools and schools use Rychta for creative-educational programs.
